This workshop is 'PAW'fect for pet paw-rents, vet staff, dog walkers, shelter volunteers, and folks new or experienced in Reiki.

Saturday July 20, 27 - morning classes 9am-noon will be at the Welland SPCA.

This method was developed by Kathleen Prasad, who Teresa studied with directly. It is the only method Teresa trusts in Reiki Sessions at the shelters and sanctuaries she volunteers at and the only Animal Reiki method endorsed by the Canadian Reiki Association.

This certification course includes 4 in-person learning sessions (3 hours each).

These comprehensive lessons include learning, sharing, and practicing with animals. 

To earn your certificate, you'll need to complete weekly homework, practice daily with animals, and attend all of the sessions.

  What You'll Learn in Level 1 of Let Animals Lead® Animal Reiki: 

• Unique Approach: Understand how and why the Let Animals Lead® method of Animal Reiki differs from traditional human Reiki and other Animal Reiki methods. Learn the evolution of this method and why it's the most ethical practice in Animal Reiki.
• Traditional Practices: Explore traditional Shoden (Level 1) Japanese Reiki practices and how to modify them so that animals can lead the sessions.
• Ethical Physical Contact: Discover when and how to use physical contact ethically during an Animal Reiki session, along with hands-on protocol for humans.
• Positive Focus: Learn the importance of focusing on the 'paws'itive instead of worry during Animal Reiki sessions, and how this shift fosters trust and connection.
• Energy Centers: Delve into the three energy centers and how to develop them for gentle, animal-led meditations.
• Step-by-Step Guidance: Receive detailed guidance for conducting successful Animal Reiki sessions.
• Practitioner Code of Ethics: Get an overview of the Animal Reiki Practitioner Code of Ethics and understand why these principles are crucial to your practice.
• Holding Space vs. Doing: Grasp the difference between holding space for an animal and “doing” an energy treatment “to” an animal, and why this distinction matters.

• Comprehensive Manual: A 250-page manual/workbook filled with inspiring, interactive teachings. This manual alone is worth the price of the class!
• Daily Practice Assignments: Daily practice assignments and weekly homework to guide your journey (and continue your journey!)
• Certification: A beautiful certificate to show your accomplishment and official certification. This certificate may serve as a prerequisite to any Let Animals Lead® Level 2 course.
• SARA Membership: An invitation to join SARA (Shelter Animal Reiki Association) as a Practitioner member.

  Course Requirements: 

• In-Person Participation: Students must participate in all sessions. Attendance is required for certification. (If you can't attend a session, make up sessions can be arranged, $50/hour) 
• Tuesday evening classes 6-9 are in St. Catharines and Saturday morning classes 9am-noon will be at the Welland SPCA.
• Weekly Homework: Daily practice and bring a question(s) to our classes. Sign up in advance to receive the manual and complete pre-reading.
• Animal Companions: Students must have animals to practice with daily. A variety of animals is preferable (ask neighbors and friends to support you!), but a minimum of 1 or 2 of your own is needed. Reach out to Teresa if you need help with this.
• Daily Meditation: Commit to 10-20 minutes/day of daily meditation practice during the course. This will help you experience the teachings personally, laying the foundation for a lifelong Animal Reiki practice. With dedication, Animal Reiki can transform your life and the lives of the animals you love!
